The client wanted to convert the limited space at the back of her house into a smart, modern ‘outdoor room’ for relaxing and entertaining.
The garden was divided into compartments by ‘L’ shaped raised beds which increased the apparent size of the garden and provided an easily managed planting area. The raised beds were of concrete block, rendered and painted in a light cream to give a bright, modern appearance. They were edged in the Balau decking boards that were used at both ends of the garden. Between the decks, slate paving stones match the kitchen floor, creating a sense of continuity between the inside and outside spaces.
